Thank you.
This was very interesting, I loved it
This game was a cracker! Looking forward to it’s return hopefully. Congratulations Meera!
Good Luck everyone for next months comps, I am sorry to see this months end as I have really enjoyed them both. Some have given me a good laugh. Happy Halloween everyone.
I am not looking forward to next month’s Word Bridge challenges – they sound an altogether trickier proposition.
Whoever picks the lottery numbers to me: DASHING THY WISHES
Todays was the quickest that I’ve guessed (in about two seconds), as opposed to several this month which I haven’t been able to work out at all.
Same here but only because I love that movie!
Me too. This was a great film.
Whereas the most recent instalment seemed like a desperate attempt to milk the cash cow one last time whilst the actor was still up to the job.
Ditto! Even though I haven’t even seen the film 😆
I am even more ophidiophobic than the film’s protagonist – making Ireland and New Zealand particularly appealing places to visit.
I think what I put today is made up, but sounds like it could be an occupation.
sounds like we may have put the same answer lol
I’m intrigued as to both your answers now???
Mine was Crime Execution Officer!
Lol That’s a great answer
Mine was Chief Executive Officer.
@Tracy that WAS the correct answer lol
@ Sally, Yes I got it right. but I think Andrews answer is really good, it would fit lol.
It’s the first word that I found so tricky (same as everyone else, from the other comments) the other ones could only be what they were lol, but the first word could be so many things – I was SO close to putting ‘PRIME executive officer’ because it was the only thing I could think of that could possibly go with the rest, in my head at least! Even when I thought I’d the correct answer fortunately just before putting that in, I had to Google the job title as a whole to make sure it actually was one, as… Read more »
This one took me a while and then it clicked. To think he does a lot of his own stunts. 👍
“SS” words seem either to be either dead giveaways or insurmountable stumbling blocks.
Today’s, though, is “peasy-easy” as Hut 33’s Minka would say.
So great and unexpected to see your bit about Hut 33, I love that programme 😄 wonder how many others got the reference?? 🤔😏
Wow, got the last two fairly quickly after some thought, but the first word took me aaaaaages 😵💫😆 I guess cos it seems slightly redundant, given the second word…! But really as they kinda go together, shouldn’t have taken me SO long lol
I also thought the same thing about the first word.
I got the second word first, before getting the film title.
@Tracy – This was about the wireless Bluetooth speaker
Using the missing letters tool I found the answer, but there are a load of words with the letters on the last word.
Got it straightaway, one of the easiest so far for me
Once I got the first word – especially with the final letter being present – I found it straightforward.
But not as much as it would have been had I bothered to check the topic first (I invariably neglect to do that): thinking of SPORT answers would have made it somewhat easier (and would have made the final word more readily guessable – to me, at least).
@ Geoffrey – Ha I’m very impressed you got it without the topic, wow 👏 it was that that made the last word so obvious (to even me who doesn’t follow sort at ALL), then I was able to work out the rest
I agree Stuart, I also got it straightaway.
I also got it very quickly despite having barely heard of it, not being a fan 🤣 lots of letters given today!
I too got it straight away despite having no particular interest in it.
once I got the first word I got it. I don’t follow any sport, so it took me a bit.
I thought having “SS”” in the middle of an 8-letter word was a cursedly difficult clue… but I was wrong.
Totally can’t see this one 🙁
Not a curse, but …..?
I got it into my head that it was a collective noun – A blessing of somethings 😀
it took me a great deal of time to get this but by going through missing letters crossword solver, a great tool, I finally figured it out.
Despite a widely-held view, it cannot be seen from the moon.
In fact, the only manmade things which can be seen from the moon are the manmade things ON the moon (taken by the astronauts on various Apollo missions) – which may or may not still exist … although metallic remains of the flagpoles (one per mission) and lunar buggy/buggies are surely still somewhat in evidence.
Hence why I used the word Apparently
Just to be clear, my comment was not intended as a reply to yours – for a start, your metric of “space” is considered to start at the limit of the earth’s atmosphere (fewer than 80 miles vertically) whilst the moon is c.240,000 miles away, making visibility (or not) quite a different proposition.
Anyway, thanks for reading my comment and for taking the time to respond.
apparently you can see it from space
Today’s was tough hubby got it before me I didn’t have a clue
I think a different clue would have been more helpful today.
I did it my way 🙂
Thanks – as soon as I saw the K, I was fixating on Derek!
me too
Me as well!!!
22) a clue if anyone is struggling still..” looks nice in the sky.”‘. 😊
