Every day you’ll be shown an image that represents a well known saying or phrase. Your challenge is to work out what the image is trying to tell you. Some will be instantly recognisable, others may need a bit of lateral thinking. A brand new picture puzzle awaits you daily.
You just need to solve the daily challenge. Get it right and you will earn 2 entries into the prize draw. Even if you do not get it right, you will still receive 1 entry just for taking part. At the end of the month, all entries will be pooled together, and one lucky winner will be drawn at random. You just need to guess the phrase shown in the image. Get it right and you’ll earn 2 entries into the prize draw. Even if your answer is not correct, you’ll still receive 1 entry just for taking part. At the end of the month, all entries will be pooled together, and one lucky winner will be drawn at random.
The competition started on 1st January 2026 and runs until the end of the month. The final question will be posted on 31st January 2026, with the winner announced here on 1st February 2026. The winner will then have 24 hours to claim their £10 cash prize. If the prize is not claimed by 11am on 2nd February 2026, it will be forfeited, and no late claims will be accepted.

i’ve had a go but i don’t think it’s right
Hope you got it right Phil.
it took some thinking but then it came to me
By Jove I think I’ve got it. 🙂
i’m enjoying these!
Me too.
me three 🙂
Had the one with the rope wrong. Put ‘learning the ropes’ as that was all AI could come up with as I don’t know many English phrases.
Yes, phrases and idioms must be the most difficult possible puzzle for a non-native speaker… It’s great that you’re struggling along anyway, good luck 🍀
Missed one day (apple of my eye) then two wrong in a row: these boots are made for walking; if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen 😱 Obviously on a different wavelength this month
I missed “Apple of my eye” too as the site would not load. I got “Bite the bullet” and ” put your best foot forward” wrong. At least we get one point for a wrong answer. 🙂 🙂
I’m amazed by the amount of people that did seem to get ‘bite the bullet’ right tbh! It was only when I zoomed in really close after seeing what the correct answer was that I realised it looked anything like a bullet (it looked more like a megaphone to me than anything when first answering!) and the rest of the picture bore absolutely no resemblance to the phrase whatsoever, all sunshine and happiness, especially the gleeful expression on the woman’s face which is hardly how you feel when you have to bite the bullet 🙄😏
The bullet looked more like a cocktail shaker to me.
I had the same problem with Apple of my eye on the 7th, the site would not load
Something is leaving one thing and heading towards something else
Any clues for today’s one? Can’t figure it out.
Look at the differences in the shoes. Which one is at the front.
Thanks
One of the shoes looks better than the other
Thank you
I wish I had read the clues given before I put my answer which I now realise was the wrong one.
Hope I have it right, but a lot of interpretation needed
I’m hoping it’s more to do with what is in the shoe than the shoe itself.
still not sure even with peoples clue and AI doesn’t help… EDIT got it now but the whole breakfast thing and sunny morning etc. completely nothing to do with it!!! also not sure why he looks so happy!!!!
I think I got the wrong phrase, as my OH came out with another phrase that fits it more. oh well at least I get a point.
Whoops – put the answer here instead of above, hence edit! Busy day…
Thanks for the clues, I now know what it is.
Any ideas for number 6? Any clues would be much appreciated.
What comes out of a gun?
whats he doing? – what’s he putting in his mouth – there’s your answer 🙂
I’d love to see the gun that holds that 😁
A couple of them definitely have bear features!
Yes! I nearly put that in brackets in my answer, but thought better of it. 🤣
That’s the trouble with AI 🙄
What in the AI is going on here?
The instructions are at the top…
I know, some of them animals look very strange indeed. LOL 😉
Any clues for the time and candle?
Sorry only just seen your message , or I would have given you a clue. Did you get it right.
No. But one point for trying. I put new beginnings.
I didnt, i put light before the dark Doh!!
You still got a point for trying though.
