Each day, a pixelated image of an everyday tech item will be revealed – can you identify it? Test your knowledge of gadgets and devices with this months Pixel Tech Challenge. We’re not looking for brand names – just the general name of the item – but feel free to include the brand if you know it!
If you guess the tech item correctly, you’ll earn 2 entries into the prize draw. Even if you don’t get it right, you’ll still receive 1 entry just for taking part. At the end of the month, all entries will be pooled together, and one lucky winner will be drawn at random.
The competition started on 1st September 2025 and runs until the end of the month. The final question will be posted on 30th September 2025, with the winner announced here on 1st October 2025. The winner will then have 24 hours to claim their £10 cash prize. If the prize is not claimed by 11am on 2nd October 2025, it will be forfeited, and no late claims will be accepted.

I’ve never seen one either as I don’t drive, I don’t have a car and always take the bus. I put projector because I thought it was a TV and not a digital screen in a car.

I put Smart Fridge Freezer, because you can see the Smart panel and it also looks like there is a freezer draw, but like Daniel said, as long as you have the main part of the answer, it’s right, I really don’t think they are that picky.
I won’t be sorry to leave this month’s competition behind, I have to say – I was hoping for something a bit more challenging after last month’s (almost patronisingly) easy quiz, but this has been just a bit too 🤯!
I get the impression most of us have found it tricky from all the comments – is there ANYONE who’s whizzed through it all no problem? Go on, show off… 😄
I for one have had a few that have been What!!! and also missed a couple of days. I do hope that next months comp will be a bit easier for us older generation that are not so clued up on all the gadget’s there are now.
I’m a millenial and even I struggled with this month. So many newer technology items that I didn’t recognise and had to guess at.
I think I’ve probably only got about a third of the answers right. It’s definitely been my worst ever month for these competitions. Although in my defence, a lot of the clues have been too pixelated to even see what they’re supposed to be.
I would not have got the smart meter as I have never seen one.

As my previous comment shows, I didn’t get Soundbar and some I have had an idea and googled it in the hope of finding the same or similar picture, but like last months, it isn’t what I would call “fun”.
But I am not complaining, I have always said that I don’t know how they come up with something different every month, I visit every day so I obviously like it.

Well, I am not ashamed to say I had no idea of yesterday’s and put “Big, long black thing with small, short black thing”. Technically, that is right, so I will assume I got 2 points.
Today’s is very clearly “White outer casing with bluey, purple circle and black thingy with red dot strategically leaning on its side”. Copy if you dare!

Same. The answers to this month’s comp doesn’t make sense. Sometimes they want the brand and exact model and other times it’s just the generic item.

I missed a day again, I was at the hairdressers and then at my Mums.
I used to have exactly what’s in today’s picture.
So did I, until the dog chewed it up😂
Oh dear, most of the buttons eventually stopped working on mine, which is nowhere near as dramatic lol.
I had one about 25 years ago, we now don’t use any of them.
