Every day you will be shown a word puzzle with the beginning and ending missing, leaving only the core of the word visible. Alongside it, you will see a definition and the total number of letters in the full word. Your challenge is to work out the complete word that fits both the definition and the letter count. Sometimes the middle part will give the game away quickly, other times it may really get you thinking. A fresh word challenge awaits you daily.
All you need to do is guess the full word. If you get it right, you will earn 2 entries into the prize draw. Even if your answer is not correct, you will still receive 1 entry just for taking part. The visible middle section will always be in the correct position within the final word, so use it as your clue. At the end of the month, all entries will be pooled together, and one lucky winner will be drawn at random.
The competition started on 1st February 2026 and runs until the end of the month. The final question will be posted on 28th February 2026, with the winner announced here on 1st March 2026. The winner will then have 24 hours to claim their £10 cash prize. If the prize is not claimed by 11am on 2nd March 2026, it will be forfeited, and no late claims will be accepted.

I’ve put the plural as well.
If it’s the word I’m thinking of, there’s one extra letter. Anyone? Or is it plural?
I’ve put the plural
This plural game is starting to become a habit 🙄
Lol I was thinking the same thing – surely the definition should start with ‘Has’ rather than ‘To have’ to fit the extra letter on the end? Although I’m not sure it’s a noun with the answer we are all forced to give to fit the letters, but I’m very tired so forgive me if I’m wrong about that 😆
Edit – that’s not to say I’m not enjoying the game because I am!
I agree Sally, and it’s a verb.
Thank you Jessica – I would have just put that at any other time but I was so tired I didn’t want to in case I was wrong 🤣
It was correct on the 11th “people who watch” rather than “A person who watches’, it is baffling why some are just wrong. It is literally a game about the English language. 🤔
That one was actually correct though Allison, I think you’re thinking of the diagram one which was definitely diagrams and that was showed as the correct answer the next day but the clue was ‘A simplified drawing…’ so it was very confusing!
I think you might have read my post wrong Sally, I did say it was correct on the 11th, I was pointing out that they can get it right, but it’s the weekend, so hopefully you’ve had such a good one, you can’t concentrate on mere words. 😊
Yes sorry Alison, I did read your post completely wrong and looking at it now I can’t understand why on earth I did?! It was very clear lol – I’m afraid I will have to blame tiredness again, insomnia really can do a number on your brain 🤪 Haha it’s funny you should mention the weekend; I finally spent some time with my son who is in Uni on Sunday who I haven’t really seen properly for months, and I must admit we went out and had some drinks together and it’s been so long since I’ve really had any… Read more »
Ha ha, I was about to agree with you thinking, ok, if you had a few drinks… Oh, that was after the comment. Sorry, I tried to be on your side, but you made it very difficult by telling the truth, lol.
It’s nice that you spent time with your son, not long ago was you changing his nappy, waving him off to school, putting a plaster on his knee and now Uni. So I’m back on your side, it wasn’t stupid, I bet your head has been in the clouds with excitement for days! 😊
Never heard that expression before rubberneckers.
it is usually to describe people that see something happening and as they are driving past like a crash and the turn their heads as they are going past to see as much as they can, which is why there are hold ups on the other side of the road when there is a crash as people slow down to get a better look.
Today’s answer (11th), also known as “Rubberneckers”
I really get frustrated with other drivers who hold me up because they are slowing down to see what is happening on the other side of the carriageway! So annoyed I feel it is my right to slow and see what all the fuss is about! 🤣🤣
I agree I’ve put the plural spelling can’t think of anything else
Today’s got the right spelling? , seems like it has one letter too many, or it’s multiple of them
yes i agree – it says drawing rather than drawings…
Just had the same discussion with my husband. The clue says drawing, which suggests singular but the answer appears to be a plural. 🤔
Normally I’m not a fan of crosswords, spending the day trying to think of a word, then finding out the next day it was a word I’d never even heard of doesn’t appeal to me, but I like this, it’s not easy, but it’s not too difficult either, it’s the Goldilocks of puzzles. 😊
I agree, I haven’t had any problems getting them, touch wood 😄
So far so good.
I’m liking this one…
Congratulations to the winners on both last months games. Good luck to everyone on this site for this months games.
Congratulations to Philip on winning Januarys draw.
Good luck to everyone for February .
