This Month's Winner Is…
Linda
DOB: 20/01/1969
[Claimed]
Every day you will be shown a word or phrase with the vowels removed, along with an image to help you work out what it is. Your challenge is to fill in the missing vowels and reveal the correct answer. Some will be easy to spot, while others may really make you think. A brand new word puzzle awaits you daily.
All you need to do is work out the missing vowels and identify the word or phrase. If you get it right, you will earn 2 entries into the prize draw. Even if your answer is not correct, you will still receive 1 entry just for taking part. Use the image clue provided to help identify the type of answer we are looking for. At the end of the month, all entries will be pooled together, and one lucky winner will be drawn at random.
The competition started on 1st August 2026 and runs until the end of the month. The final question will be posted on 31st August 2026, with the winner announced here on 1st September 2026. The winner will then have 24 hours to claim their £10 cash prize. If the prize is not claimed by 11am on 2nd September 2026, it will be forfeited, and no late claims will be accepted.

Congrats Linda 🎉🥂🍾 it’s nice to see you post too 😊
Congratulations to August’s winners and good luck, everyone, for September’s games.
Good luck everyone! 🤞
Can we just put Willy Wonka for short?
Haha
A fantastic view from today’s answer. Although my OH was not that impressed, as he doesn’t like heights.
I’m ok with heights, as long as I feel safe, I used to live on the 11th floor, less noise, we could leave our windows open wide all summer and we had a brilliant view on firework night!
It’s strange though, I sometimes dream of that flat, but it often has the outer wall missing and I am trying not to fall, all I can take from that is I’m ok, but my subconscious has vertigo. 🤣
I am the same; I cannot go up a ladder near stairs, which we had in our last home. My brother wallpapered our stairs for us and painted the ceiling with a tall ladder and a plank so he could reach the tallest parts. He asked me to refill the paint roller; I was very shaky on the plank to him. I had my back against the wall and sidestepped all the way there and back to the landing. The Eiffel Tower was amazing; the views were breathtaking. The only problem was the lift was out of order when we… Read more »
Today’s might be a bit difficult for those of a younger age.
Well I have no idea how they got orangutan from a panda…
I think the picture was trying to say animals found in a zoo.
I am totally with you on that Heather, I didn’t pull the pic down far enough at first, so only really saw the panda and thought “is there a Chinese panda somewhere called Rintin” . 🤣
i thought i would be the only one that put ringtone
i put ringtone for yesterday!!!! lol
(how do you get emojis on here? never seen the option to?)
I put that as well (knowing that it was wrong) but I did think of orangutan even though I don’t see one in the picture.
I put that to although I couldn’t see what all the animals had to do with it! 🤦🏻♀️
I put emojis from the keyboard because I’m using a mobile, if you’re on a Windows computer I think you press the Windows key and full stop IIRC? Hopefully somebody can correct me if I’m wrong on that, I haven’t been able to find my laptop for ages!
I use the special characters on my laptop keypad. I have used them for a while, as my mum cannot receive picture messages on her phone : for eyes, – for the nose, and ) for the smile. When I press send, it comes up with the face
Why would you put ringtone? genuine question. I instantly saw the clue was ‘zoo animals’.
i think the older gen might struggle with this one? (look at me calling people old when i’ve just turned 50 myself!!! haha)
I am 58, and I still call others old. I did not have any problems with yesterday’s answer. 🙂 🙂
My dad is 80 and was really happy the other week when an old woman called him “young man”. 🤣
I remember when he was in his late sixties, he called himself “middle-aged”, I told him I would love him to live forever, but even I thought him reaching his 130s was a stretch. 🤣
I know what you mean; my Mum and Dad are both 78. I told both of them I want at least another 30 years with them. Mum just smiled, but my Dad told me to bugger off; he was not living to that age, but he is riddled with Osteoarthritis, which I can understand what he meant, as I suffer from early-onset osteoarthritis.
It wasn’t too long ago I hit 50, it is scary, our mother’s age drew their pension at 60, you are just 10 years off… Sorry if that has made it more scary! 🧓🧑🦯🦽 🤣
I am only 2 years away from it. 🙂 🙂
Like with the other competition a few days ago, autofill worked for me again on this clue, due to it appearing in a previous competition.
Yum!
You can say that again!
Yum 😉
I love eating these.
Machu Picchu again 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thats exactly what i thought too 🤣😂🤣
Ice Hockey and Baseball 😂
There isn’t even a tennis player in the picture, that’s a badminton racket! 🧐 Never mind, when I saw cycling and volleyball, my mind shouted, Wimbledon! 🤣🤣
Thats not how you spell spaghetti bolognaise
Apparently it is.. somewhere in the world. I always used to write ‘bolognaise’ like you, until someone in India corrected me saying ‘we write it as bolognese’. Her English was good as she had gone to English private school. According to AI Bolognese is the original Italian spelling and bolognaise is the French spelling. It makes sense for me to write bolognaise as I am Belgian and though my mother tongue is Flemish there are a lot of French words used by Flemish speaking people.
Hopefully this will be acknowledged. I did have to check the spelling as I wrote it the same as you Mandy but wasn’t sure I’d spelt it right
Hi Mandy. Bolognese is actually the standard spelling used in the UK today (as you’ll see on supermarket packs and British recipe sites). However, bolognaise is still recognised in UK dictionaries as an acceptable older alternative, so I’ll gladly credit both versions as correct answers for the competition. All the best, Daniel.
Had this for my tea today, very good it was too
It took me a while to get today’s, but the map clue helped
Not sure what the 2 people holding the thing at the bottom represents
Can’t see any relevance to the picture at all!
They are very ancient ruins in Peru. The Map and Tape measure work well.
Taking measurements with it being old ruins.
Today is hard for me has anyone got a clue to help please?
I think it might be a famous landmark in the land of Paddington’s birth
Think of a place
Stuck on today’s any clues anyone?!
Think of a place
Well done sally
Good luck for August everyone
