LIVE – March 2025 – Piece by Piece – Win £10

Piece by Piece – Name The Board Game – Win £10

Each day, a small section of a board game image will be revealed, testing your knowledge of classic and modern games. Your challenge is to identify the board game from the partial image.

Explore a wide variety of board games, from timeless family favourites to intricate strategy games. Whether it’s a well-known classic or a hidden gem, every day brings a new puzzle to solve.

If you correctly guess the board game we’re looking for, you will earn 2 entries into the prize draw. If your guess is incorrect, you’ll still receive 1 entry just for taking part. At the end of the month, all entries will be pooled together, and one lucky winner will be drawn at random.

The competition started on 1st March 2025 and runs until the end of the month. The final question will be posted on 31st March 2025, with the winner announced here on 1st April 2025. The winner will then have 24 hours to claim their £10 cash prize. If the prize is not claimed by 11am on 2nd April 2025, it will be forfeited, and no late claims will be accepted.

Did love a game of this when visiting relatives in Castle Douglas

I’ve never seen nr. 16 in my entire life.

It’s one of the most popular board games in the world, up there with Monopoly.

I played it as a child and young adult; it was fun. You have to solve the murderer’s identity from the clues given and which room and weapon were used.

I know Cluedo and played it but this seems to be an earlier version which I never knew existed.

Nr. 11 in Belgium (Flanders part) is just called OXO. (as in the stock cubes etc).

I put Noughts & Crosses for yesterday’s answer and as I pressed send Tic Tac Toe entered my head, argghh! I was glad today when it showed both answers were correct. Phew!

Tic Tac Toe is what American’s call it. So you were definitely correct in putting noughts and crosses.

Absolutely right, purplevamp – I was actually mildly annoyed that Noughts and Crosses wasn’t shown as the ONLY correct answer 🤣😏😉

You’re not supposed to give it away

Hi Trev, under the picture there are boxes for you to put your email and answer to the puzzle, you will not get anything for posting it here, other than obvious anger from many members for spoiling the game.

Please do not post the answers anymore, you can discuss the previous days puzzle once the answer has been posted in the list.

Nr. 10 is called Doctor Shiver 😀 You won’t believe nr. 11 which I will tell later.

10th March answer is completely different for name in my country LOL wondering if there’s other members on here from abroad living in UK.

Going by your previous translations, I suspect it is something like “Doctor, please don’t make the patient scream!” 😀

Please Hilde, put us out of suspension – I can’t be the only one dying to know what it’s called in the Netherlands now!

Loving the new look and update. I somehow missed yesterday’s one!.

Yes, it’s very smart. If you’re anything like me, you tried to log in while the update was in progress and then forgot to come back later 😢. That’s how I managed to miss yesterday’s!

I love the new layout and the updating, it looks great.

Indeed it does, looks fresh!
One thing missing though is the ‘date of posting’ for the Birthdate and Survey Draws. I always check to be sure that the draw I am looking at is the right one for the day (in case of a late update) but I can’t see that now. Am I overlooking it, and if not, can it be put back, please?

Yes, the date is missing from the draws, but it is on this month’s game’s competition box and the top of the day’s competitions page.

Yew, nice and fresh, it makes me feel brighter, you should rename it the “Free Happy Birthday Lottery” 🤪🤣

Thought I was on the wrong site today, had to do it twice to double check and had to watch a video before accessing, although im liking the new web site 👍.

I didn’t bother to look up nr. 7 and gambled on the name to be the same in Dutch so put what I knew. I was wrong. Connect Four is not called ‘Four in a row’ (Vier op ‘n rij) as it’s called in my language LOL oh well, good try.

Yesterday I thought Chinese Checkers

I missed yesterday’s altogether, but I would not have known the answer, so it matters not!

Jenga is called ‘Stapelblok’ which literally translated means ‘Stacking Blocks/bricks’

It’s like you have you own little puzzle within the puzzles.

I used to play this game when I was younger but I think the answer is a different word to what I called it. I think the answer begins with G but I know it as beginning with O

Sally

Are you thinking of Othello*? That was what first came to my mind when I saw the black & white circles 😉 but the board is different, if you notice the counters are placed on the corners – I’ve been meaning to learn to play this game (if it is indeed the one beginning with G!) for ages.

*maybe I shouldn’t say the name either, in case it comes up later! But you’d still have to know which one it was to answer properly, so don’t think I’m giving anything away…

Alison

Alison

I also thought the same initially, but changed my mind for the same reason.

I didn’t recognise this one so I had to look it up and my guess also starts with a G, so I feel more confident now that I answered correctly.

purplevamp

Yes! I’ve still got my game in the attic. I actually put Gomoku as that is what came up in the search for me. Guess I would have been wrong either way.

Alison
Member
Alison

I looked up Gomoku and it looks the same as Go, just like Hilde is saying, different countries have different names for the same game, hopefully you are still deemed as correct.
