Every day you will be given a question all about summer and holidays, and your challenge is to work out the correct answer. From famous destinations and travel trivia to sunshine, beaches, and seasonal fun, some questions will be easy, while others may really test your knowledge. A brand new summer-themed challenge awaits you daily.
All you need to do is submit the answer you think is correct. If you get it right, you will earn 2 entries into the prize draw. Even if your answer is not correct, you will still receive 1 entry just for taking part. At the end of the month, all entries will be pooled together, and one lucky winner will be drawn at random.
The competition started on 1st July 2026 and runs until the end of the month. The final question will be posted on 31st July 2026, with the winner announced here on 1st August 2026. The winner will then have 24 hours to claim their £10 cash prize. If the prize is not claimed by 11am on 2nd August 2026, it will be forfeited, and no late claims will be accepted.

When you search, one colour does come up indicating a safe beach, but all the ones I know that are safe and monitored by lifeguards fly a red and yellow flag.

Ok, don’t judge me, but I am one of the 6 people in the world who still watch Home And Away and they always put up red and yellow flags, I’ve never seen the other colours mentioned.

I recently watched Prisoner: Cell Block H from begining to end. Wow, this has become an Australian TV support group! 😂
In my country there are 3 colours of flags used at the sea for swimming. There’s a yellow one which means you can go in but you can’t use inflatables. The other ones are green and red. There’s no black flag or purple flag. Why is yellow not in this list or do they not use yellow in the UK?
I looked it up, and it said Red and Yellow in some places and Green in others, so I put both answers and where they were for. I have never seen a UK beach with lifeguards on it anyway. But I think I will still only get one point.
Tracy there’s a beach not too far from me (30 min bus ride) and I’ve never see any lifeguards either though loads of people go swim there. It does have a daily sign indicating that day’s safety for swimming.

If the answer is green why put the text about Lifeguards been present it causes confusion and makes the answer green incorrect as Lifeguards don’t need to be present if its a green flag

unless they are right next to you , you don’t hear them, the summer evening gave it away for me and the movies you’d watch and hear the crickets in evening and night time scenes
It depends on which part of the question speaks to you, but in a quiz the whole question should.
If I said “will guard your home through the night and purrs when you stroke it”?
Dog? Cat? No! The correct answer is rabbit, they do what is called teeth purring when you stroke them and they stamp their feet at unfamiliar noises. 🤣

I was stuck between bee and mosquito, but it was the word gentle that pushed me towards bee, I would have been happy with either answer, but instead we have those famous buzzing crickets(!) 🤔🙄

For day 1 I just put C. Today I see the answer is C) June. It would really help if you put an example of the format you are wanting as there is no close bracket on the actual picture with the question. Or is it as long as 1 of the bits is there it is classed as correct?
Either format would work just so long as the answer is the right one.
It doesn’t matter as long as it is clear you chose the correct answer. They have to put both so the people who just wrote “June” know they were right too.
Yes I agree with Tracy and Allison (surprise surprise! 😁) – as far as I know Daniel admirably checks all the answers manually, it’s not some computer thing looking at them so you don’t have to get the format in some specific condition for it to be considered correct 👍

With an E Tracy? My mum’s friend is Tracy, at one time I thought it was with an E, so I did spell it wrong for a while, now I check previous cards they sent me to make sure I write them in my book correctly. What a load of faff!

Aside from the spelling of my name, I rarely come across other Alison’s, similar to you, it’s a well known name, but not common, or popular. All those old names have come right back into fashion, Jack, Archie, Ben, Joshua to name a few.
