April 2026 – Daily Digits – Win £10

This Month’s Winner Is…
Andrew
DOB: 24/09/1978
[Claimed]

Every day you will be given a question where the answer is a number, and your challenge is to work it out. Some answers may be straightforward, while others could require a bit of thinking or estimation. A brand new numbers-based challenge awaits you daily.

All you need to do is submit the number you think is correct. If you get it right, you will earn 2 entries into the prize draw. Even if your answer is not correct, you will still receive 1 entry just for taking part. At the end of the month, all entries will be pooled together, and one lucky winner will be drawn at random.

The competition started on 1st April 2026 and runs until the end of the month. The final question will be posted on 30th April 2026, with the winner announced here on 1st May 2026. The winner will then have 24 hours to claim their £10 cash prize. If the prize is not claimed by 11am on 2nd May 2026, it will be forfeited, and no late claims will be accepted.

Thank you Wendy!

I’ve just put “too bloody many” for today’s answer-not a fan!!

Member
Alison

I can see your not a fan of the ‘norm’ Jacky, but I have to agree, I haven’t read any of the books or even wanted to watch any of the films. Although I find myself on the outside when watching panel shows who reference Harry Potter, or unable to answer simple questions in a quiz like “what was the name of the school”… no idea, it’s frustrating, maybe I will one day give the first one a try, just so I understand the joke or don’t look stupid at a quiz, people give you ‘that look’.. “you mean you… Read more »

Reading the first book is not really enough – you will probably find it quite juvenile as it was aimed at kids of 11 or 12. Each succeeding book aimed for an older age group. However, the later books become quite gripping and it is fascinating how the myths from many different cultures are worked into the stories. If you do decide to give the first book a go, persevere on to book 2 at the very least

I completely agree I’ve never understood this fascination with people and Harry Potter. Never seen a film never read a book. zero interest. That was my first thought “‘too bloody many”. 👍 and when I walk around the shops in my area and keep seeing Harry Potter here and there I think oh ffs not more potter rubbish. 😏

I loved this program years ago, so I knew the answer. My OH was surprised and a little worried lol that I could remember.

Member
Jackie

I had to look today’s up, I never watched Friends!

Member
Marie

Me either!

Member
Alison

OMG you two! I am so jealous that you could watch them, enjoying every line as if it were new, but I will only ever see repeats. It is truly one of the best sitcom ever made, it has guest stars in every one of the 236 episodes, from the great Robin Williams who ad-libbed with Billy Crystal their entire scene, to the strangest ones like Richard Branson. Have you never wanted to see Danny Devito as a stripper at a hen party? Ok, I would understand if it isn’t on your bucket list, but come on, watch Friend’s from… Read more »

I wasn’t a big fan I could watch it and occasionally I still do but for me it was easy to answer because I knew all the characters. Personally I like the theme tune better.

Well today had be racking my old brain, I’ve had to google to check in was right (I was wrong lol) but conflicting answers between 2 numbers so will see tomorrow

Member
Nick

Strictly speaking, today’s answer should be zero. If it asked how many metres (instead of meters), that would be different. There aren’t any gas meters or electricity meters or any other sort of meters in a kilometre.

Member
Alison

What about if it’s a km long street full of houses. 🤣

Member
Sally

Ooo interesting today (24) I learnt something new anyway!

Ps. Didn’t use a calculator 🤣

Member
Tracy

me too

Member
Saintsuzi

Me too 🙂

Member
Alison

Yes, I learnt something new also.

Aside from the very first question, a calculator would have been quite useless throughout this month, so I can confirm, I too have done it all without a calculator!

We are such clever dicks!… Nope, there’s no emoji for that! 🤣

Member
Sally

@Alison – surely 🤓🍆 would get the meaning across? And all very innocent if not 😂

Member
Alison

🤣🤣

Member
Meera

Yes, me too. Have answered all the other questions without a calculator as it wouldn’t have helped anyway.
I’ve also tried to restrict the amount of times I google the answer as well.

Member
Alison

That’s so good Meera, me too, there’s been a couple of sports one I had to check and a few more, but other than that, same 😊

Member
Wendy

Same here 🤣

Member
Meera

For Day 18, I put 28 because I wasn’t sure whether to include the 4 ‘Wisdom’ teeth. Clearly that was not the ‘Wise’ choice, lol!

Member
Sally

Aww shame, perhaps if you’ve had yours extracted you can blame it on that?! 😉

Member
Khadija

I put both. Just to be safe.

Member
Alison

Me too, better to explain because you can’t be sure which way it will go.

Member
Alison

Every ‘usual’ human has 28 teeth, some also grow wisdom teeth, but not all, yet the answer was 32.

Every deck of cards has 54 cards, but we discount the 2 Jokers, even though they are in every pack.

So why have we excluded 2 Jokers that are always there, but included teeth that some people never get?

Member
Stuart

It’s all based on where the source of the answer comes from unfortunately!!! 😒

Missed yesterday because I was locked out for incorrect password. Some kind of glitch because it was the correct password and I’ve logged in with it with our problem today. Apparently, they thought I was a bot 🤣. I hope the bot got an entry for me!!

I got an email a few days ago from “WordPress”

Subject – [Free Birthdate Lottery] Account Locked.

“For your security, your account has been locked because of too many failed login attempts. To unlock your account please click the following link:”

I had not tried to log in and when I went to my Bookmark to open the site, I was still logged in from the previous day and it was working fine. Very confusing.

Member
Hilde

I had that once before as well. Frustrating. I also missed that day and no entries for me that day.

Member
Tracy

I like Alison. I have had emails saying I have been locked out. I have been locked out a few times, always saying there have been too many login attempts, which makes no sense. I can sometimes still log in, though.

Member
Alison

I like Alison too, thanks Tracy 🤣🤣

Member
Tracy

I had no idea, so I had to look up the answer, but I think it had been looked up a lot, as it was at the top of my list without me putting all the questions in.

Member
Alison

I literally just had to count mine.

How have I had teeth for so many decades and never bothered to count them until today! All I needed was a finger, I didn’t even have to get out of my chair! 😁

Member
STEVEN

Halve that number if you’re from Portsmouth.

Member
Stuart

HARSH!!!

Especially as they have a very good dental school at the University

Member
krispii

Today’s an interesting one – is it just the number of notes in the scale, or how it is often played, with the repeat of the root note?

Member
Aileen

I would have got it wrong if I hadn’t checked and, apparently, the repeat of the root note is the start of the next scale

Member
Alison

My dyslexia just showed up in an amusing way, I read “how many condiments are there on Earth”, now that’s a hard question. 🤔

Member
Aileen

Interestingly enough, when I was at primary school, we were told there were 5 continents. Fortunately, I knew that the answer had changed in recent years 🤣

Member
Alison

I had only ever heard of it being 7, it seems that it depends on where you grew up, some places in the world say 5, others 6, some just 4. Technically Europe is not actually a continent due to it not being separated by an ocean.

That means we share a continent with Russia… 🤔 I’m sticking with 7, definitely 7 continents, let’s not go there!

Member
hornetcarp

interesting to see what answer is given for this

Member
Stuart

It will all depend on the source for the answer

Member
hornetcarp

indeed!

Member
Stuart

That doesn’t tell us if you were correct or not?

Member
Sally

I got so lost in reading articles all about the different way continents are defined and the numbers of them as taught differently depending where you come from, that I nearly forgot to come back and enter an answer at all 🤣

Member
Jackie

I had to ask other half for today’s, sport is not my forte at all!

Member
Heather10

I have answered and not included pluto as that’s been uncategorised now

Member
Alison

My aim this month is to try to do it without a calculator, whose with me?

But you have to be honest and asking someone else to use the calculator still counts as cheating! 🤣🤣

Member
Susan

I have never been good at maths so I’m not ashamed to use a calculator if I need to. My maths teacher had favourites and he didn’t help the ones who needed extra help in understanding sums etc. I’m getting better though and starting to see patterns etc. Good luck to everyone.

Member
Alison

Well a good technique for some sums is to remove the zeros and add them on at the end, so for example 40 x 8.
40 becomes 4,
4 x 8 = 32,
Add the 0
40 x 8 = 320.

Please note: 320 is not the answer to today’s question, but I hope the technique helps someone. 😊

Member
Susan

Thank you, sometimes I round up to ten then subtract depending on the sum of course. I’ll certainly use your tip.

Member
Alison

I’m really glad that you and others have found this useful. 😊

Member
Meera

Good idea. I too will try as many questions as possible without a calculator. Good luck.

Member
Alison

Thanks Meera,

A calculator is not going to help with today’s anyway, so I’m still on track. 🤣

Good luck to you too. 😊
