Every day you will be given three words, and your challenge is to find the single word that links them all together. The correct word can be placed either before or after each of the three words to form common phrases. Some connections will be easy to spot, while others may take a bit more thought. A brand new word puzzle awaits you daily.
All you need to do is work out the missing link that connects all three words. If you get it right, you will earn 2 entries into the prize draw. Even if your answer is not correct, you will still receive 1 entry just for taking part. Your answer must form valid phrases with each of the three words to be accepted. At the end of the month, all entries will be pooled together, and one lucky winner will be drawn at random.
The competition started on 1st May 2026 and runs until the end of the month. The final question will be posted on 31st May 2026, with the winner announced here on 1st June 2026. The winner will then have 24 hours to claim their £10 cash prize. If the prize is not claimed by 11am on 2nd June 2026, it will be forfeited, and no late claims will be accepted.

Has anyone got any clues for today, as I am stumped
Room you sleep in
Thank you, I managed to get the answer.
FINANCIAL also fits for yesterday
Thanks for all the hints, I had an eight letter word but was stuck so the clues below helped 😊
Absolutely flummoxed today!!
Clue – when you put your palm against someone else’s and move it up and down (begins with an H)
I’ve got it now but I thinking of a mime act.
Lol xx
Any help today would be greatly appreciated – thanks
It’s something formal that you do when you meet someone – using the body part that is found attached to your arm.
Oh, thanks, got it now-never heard it used with “protocol” though?!
Me either. I used an AI search, which only gave me an 8-letter word; luckily, I spotted it before sending in my answer.
It’s a computer term.
Thank you for the clue.
I thought of that word, but didn’t think it went with dry, thank you everyone for the clue x
For the 12th.
Concentrate more on “Kitchen ________” & “Linen________”, I don’t know anyone who uses the term “Dry ________”.
Clue: It’s a place where you keep things organized, you’ll probably find these in every room of the house, big or small.
It’s a setting on a tumble dryer.
So a made up Link then, based on that any word will do in any answer, its definitely not a common phrase.
Stuart, just because you haven’t heard of it doesn’t mean it’s made up.
You’ve heard of a pantry, right? For people with less space who couldn’t fit a whole pantry room, they would have one of these instead, so ‘every’ home had one or the other. It’s a piece of furniture that’s been around for centuries, so it’s definitely a real thing, we just don’t use that term anymore.
Alison you’ve missed the point…..
A Dry Cupboard is a common phrase is it? It’s apparently a setting on a tumble dryer, so a really common phrase it isn’t!
A pantry is also a dry cupboard. It’s where people store all their dry goods; we have one of those too.
The setting on a tumble dryer is cupboard dry. I would think a lot of people have a tumble dryer and would know the setting. As Alison has said, a dry cupboard has been around for years, as back when people didn’t have a lot of room, they had pantries, and they were also called dry cupboards. People also had airing cupboards back when we had back boilers with a hot water tank.
If anything, it is perfect because like you say Tracy, it works both ways, ‘dry cupboard ‘ and ‘cupboard dry’, unlike ‘cupboard kitchen’.
Modern kitchens have phased out the dry cupboard, we now hope all our cupboards are dry, it’s only when you try to sprinkle out your spices and find everything welded to the bottom, you curse ‘the powers that be’ for a dry cupboard! 🤣🤣
I have definitely got the point, you didn’t moan about the classic phrases ‘wallpaper paste’, ‘rain storm’, ‘cottage cheese’ and countless others, because you’d heard of them.
Why don’t you ask Daniel to run them by you before he puts them up, to ensure he doesn’t miss your point either.
It’s just a bit of fun Stuart. You’re being a bit of a wet blanket today, why not go and sit in a dry cupboard for an hour until you’ve completely dried off! 🧥😉
Patronising to boot…. 😂🤣
Using a search engine.. A drying cupboard exists but not a dry cupboard, so I stand by the fact it isn’t a common phrase….
Patronising? Me? 🤣
We could be doing this little dance until the end of time, but unfortunately, I’m a bit busy playing hide and seek with my nephew, he’s in the dry cupboard and I’m reading a magazine, shhh! 🤣
Thanks!
Oh dear, neither me or my hubby can’t do todays 12th
I’ve put an answer, but it doesn’t really fit with Dry 😒
I have put an answer but like you, I’m not sure it goes with dry. For those struggling think storage.
It’s a setting on a tumble dryer.
I’ve no idea either!
The dry part of the clue is a setting on a tumble dryer.
Any clues for today 11th May please?
Look at the walls in your house.
Thanks.
Very old school 😉
Oh Stuart, I am sooooo glad someone else has asked for help at last! 😌
Ironically I found this one really easy, but there have been a few in between I found tricky but was too embarrassed to ask for any hints because for like five days the last comment on here was mine from day 5 asking for help and sticking out like a sore thumb, so the last thing I wanted was to ask again 😳🤪🤣
I am struggling with these too, I have put the wrong answer on a few days rather than ask for help.
Same goes for you Marie, just ask. 😊
You shouldn’t hesitate, if you need help ask, there are many people happy to offer a clue, same as you would on the days that you have worked it out. 😊
Shelving paste❓ Silly me, that’s only 8 letters. 😖 I wouldn’t recommend it anyway, hubby put up yellow shelves, but he must have done something wrong because they are now bright white! 🤣
Wow! Coincidentally, today is the anniversary of the day my first child was born.
I have two eight-letter occasions that fit today’s puzzle….
Yes, there is 2, but I think only one goes with the bottom word.
What was the other one, out of curiosity? I had several that popped into my head but none of them were 8 letters…
I’m having trouble with today’s – day 5 – I can think of loads of words that go with each of the given ones and possibly even with two of them, but nothing that goes with all of them! I’ll have to come back later and hope I’m feeling less stupid 🤪
If you’re anything like me you would love one of these if it was filled with fresh cream 🙂
And jam…..
Glad I got it right if you are right 😉
Let them eat ____
Thank you all! 🙂 I must say I scrolled down first when I came back on, and I could mainly remember the word fish so the first two clues made me feel pretty queasy 🤣
It was a hard one yesterday, and I had a struggle with it too.
Any clues for today’s? 4th
well where do you buy your plants from
Thanks . I got it later. But didn’t check here.
Has anyone got a clue for today’s word? I can only think of one word, but it still doesn’t sound right.
Starts with an S…..
Thank you, Jacky. I would never have guessed it without your clue. I was miles off.
What were you thinking Tracy? You can’t leave us hanging like that 😜
Walk was the word I could not get out of my head, lol.
Ah thanks for replying Tracy 😁
I can’t see how it fits in with any of the three words tbh 🤔 but I do know how hard it is to get a wrong answer out of your mind once it’s in there!
thanks bernie for the H wouldnt have got it without that and yet it is so obvious when you know the answer
phil
i thought the white dot attached to line showed which end the word went……..but obviously not!!!!
I think it’s supposed to be like that but somehow ‘cheese’ is in the wrong place with the dot on the first one ‘cottage’.
It could be a few words that follow dog? Any clues?
Think about where the king and queen have been this week, maybe they were too early for ballroom dancing.
Not a clue.😪
It’s a good clue Andrew. I am certain that Trump’s been in all three answers. 🤣🤣
It’s a word that could actually work before or after dog. Think of an H word for the building you live in.
Thank you for the clue help, I had no idea what it could be
Yes. That was one of the words I had in mind when I said it could be one of a few. But thanks anyway
Thanks Bernie, it’s so easy now, but it wasn’t a second ago.
Congratulations to last month’s winners, Andrew and Defairmans. Good luck to everyone for May’s games.
Congratulations to Andrew
Good luck everyone for May.
Thank you Khadija, was a big surprise, I never managed to get many entries this month.
That’s even better.
Don’t be fooled by the first white line and blob in the clue. The missing word comes after cottage, not before it.
Thanks for that. Really helpful.
Thanks from me too, I figured it out after reading your post.
