The 31 Day October Quiz Challenge

Due to popular demand this month I am returning with a quiz. I’m sure like last time some of the questions will know straight away, with others taking a little more time to work out – and even have you go searching for the answer. Each day in October a new question will be displayed below. If you manage to answer a question correctly you will receive 2 entries into the draw. If you get the question wrong you will receive 1 entry (just for giving it a try). All entries will be pooled at the end of the month and one winner drawn at random.
The competition started on 1st October 2017 and runs until the end of the month. The last question will be shown on 31st October 2017, with the winner being announced here on 1st November 2017. The winner will then have 24 hours to claim their £10 cash prize, so be sure to check back.

🦋 I’ve had so many problems accessing this site for a total of 11 days and therefore been unable to participate fully in the competition and Draws, there’s been days when the site wouldn’t load, saying the server is down, error 404 etc, so many different messages, I’d play for days then the site wouldn’t work for a couple of days, it started working and for the last 6 days alone I’ve been locked out for some stupid reason. Tried clearing history, Cache, Cookies etc, even done a hard refresh, everything I’ve been told to do in the past but… Read more »

Hi Daniel, when I clicked submit today, the page froze and I had to refresh and re-submit the same answer as I wasn’t sure whether it went through the first time. Second time around worked though and the green “Your entry has been successfully submitted…” appeared. Just wanted to let you know…

Thanks.

“Let’s do the time warp again!” Lol. Just an idea but people could submit y’days answer again – that was allowed to count when there was a similar problem a few days ago

I also forgot but it must have been on quite late as it wasn’t on by 5.15pm as that was the last time I checked. Alcohol and 2 episodes of ice road truckers caused me to forget 😂

Think I need some new glasses! I counted the number of SUNdays on the calendar instead of Mondays! I even counted twice because I’d expected the answer to be 5. What an idiot!

Maybe question 13 should have been how many vowels in the word “ambiguous”? 😉

Simone Walker
Member

I have to disagree with the answer of 6 to the question “How many vowels are there in the word ‘advantageous’”. As I said 4 because only 4 vowels appear, as ‘A’ appears 3 times, as your question was ambiguous to the interpretation

Hollie
Member
Hollie

Sorry I have to disagree with you, there are 6 vowels in the word ‘advantageous’. If the question was ‘how many different vowels are in the word advantageous’ I could see how it would be 4.

If the question was ‘how many letters in the word advantageous’ would you have said 12 or 10?

Maggie
Member
Maggie

🦋I’m with you Hollie, I took it to read “ how many vowels are in the word ‘ advantageous ‘ “ ?? NOT “ how many DIFFERENT vowels are in the word ‘ advantageous ‘ “ and IF anyone is unsure then ASK someone here as there is always someone hanging around here who will be more than willing to help. IF by chance, you don’t get an answer ( which I’m sure you will.), then put BOTH your answers on the same entry form ( as liverpoolgirl has done ) and explain why you’ve reached that answer.🦋

Guest

I agree. I hedged my bets by saying a total of 6 but only 4 different ones.

Is today’s question including or excluding jokers?

Love these quizzes…worth putting a short reminder of the questions before the answer though? (E.g. “pink and white”, “usa flag”, “power twins”, etc). Dunno if thats changed cos having the whole question there made it too long or not.

🦋 well, given my mixed parentage I definitely knew today’s answer so far so good I should have all the answers correct to date, if not then I’ll wanna know why Daniel !! 😜😉😂🦋

Oops I think I missed yesterdays question. Oh well

I have the same trouble. I use an ‘aol.com’ email address and there is an ongoing issue with them not forwarding messages in a timely manner. I’ve had Tuesday’s reminder arrive in my inbox on Thursday!. I’m not sure where it gets held up but I definitely need to set myself up a reminder because I forget to log in without FBL’s email

I never rely on email reminders, have a list of the lottery sites on my favourites whereby the first one is my homepage. Almost impossible to forget!

I’ve answered but not sure it’s correct, I found someone whose songs won 3 times (2 X this person as singer, 1 X as songwriter). If it’s not correct then no idea as no record however I word the question on google

Or using their knuckles. I have only just found that one out a few years ago. For those who don’t know make a fist. Starting from either your little finger or your fore finger is January the dip is February, March is the next knuckle and so on when you get to July you then count August on the same knuckle and then continue. All the knuckles are 31 days the dips are 30 of course except February which is 28 or 29. Nice easy visual reminder although I still use the rhyme. 😊
